Hi Jo,
Like most things in life it’s all about balance, so some chocolate should be fine. Most chocolate does contain caffeine which if consumed in large quantities may make your baby restless. Some babies are more sensitive than others so take a cue from your baby, it may have no impact at all.
The advice from NHS Choices is to limit caffeine when breast feeding to 300gms a day = one 50g plain chocolate bar.
Best wishes
Jill
